The Living Rainforest

We've introduced a range of measures to ensure a safe & enjoyable visit for all

* Visitor numbers are capped to avoid over-crowding
* Please pre-book online to save time on arrival & guarantee your preferred visit time
* Pre-booking helps ensure that no-one is turned away

Please read all the information below before booking

Please pre-book your visit to ensure entry

To help keep you as safe as possible, we’re limiting the number of visitors who can visit at any one time.

This means that to guarantee entry at your preferred visit time, all visitors should book ONLINE before arrival. We advise booking early to avoid disappointment.

When booking, you will be reserving a morning or afternoon time slot. Your tickets will be sent out immediately by email (to avoid delays, nothing is posted).

Please remember to book ALL visitors (including annual members, children and carers)!

Book your space now by choosing one of the options below

Annual/member ticket holders – Reserve your next visit for the day & time of your choice.

New annual/member tickets – Buy an annual/member ticket if you don’t already have one.

As soon as you receive your membership number by e-mail, you can reserve your visit above (please check availability first if you wish to visit immediately).

Day/non-member – Buy a day/non-member ticket for the day & time of your choice.

Toilets and Parking

Our toilet facilities will be open, with limited capacity to enable social distancing. Our team will be carefully managing these areas, and so there may be a short wait to use the facilities. All of our toilet/washroom areas will be cleaned thoroughly and regularly throughout the day for your safety. In case any particular issues arise, we have brought in additional temporary units.

You’ll still be able to park free of charge as normal. We’ll be asking that visitors please respect social distancing measures when leaving and returning to their vehicles. As we are operating a one-way system, you will return to your car from a different direction.

Keeping safe during your visit

Keep your distance

Please try to stay one metre from other guests wherever possible – and that includes your little ones! We also have signage to assist with your safety!

Clean your hands

You’ll see there are new hand sanitising stations in addition to sinks in the toilets and other areas, so please make use of them.

Keep moving

Please don’t linger too long admiring our free-ranging animals – we don’t want to encourage over-crowding. Also, some of our enclosures make it difficult for people to pass, however the one-way system will allow you chances to loop back a second (or third) time.

Please don’t touch

You’ll see us cleaning a lot more but please help us by avoiding touching fences, windows, signs and exhibits.

Getting around

Getting around

Wheelchair and buggy users may find it harder than usual going round due to the one-way system. Wherever possible, we would request that buggies be left in our buggy park.

If you require one of our wheelchairs, they can be pre-booked by emailing Please note, these are subject to availability and booking is essential to ensure they are suitably sanitised in advance of your visit. We currently have a limited number available due to the new safety measures in place, therefore we recommend booking early.

We only have a small administrative team, so it may take us a little longer than usual to get back to you. Thanks for bearing with us.

Card payment preferred

Card payment preferred

If possible, please pay by card (preferably contactless). However cash payments are still accepted.

Frequently asked questions

Will we have to wear face masks?

As a courtesy to others, visitors are kindly requested to wear a face covering in all indoor areas if possible. However we appreciate that, as the Government guidance on mask wearing has now relaxed, this is an entirely optional choice for each visitor, and mask wearing will not be enforced by our staff. We do still have protective screens at all till points for your safety.

Are food and drinks available?

Our café is open and offering hot and cold drinks &  light snacks to eat in or take away.

Will the shop be open?

Visit our shop for all your visit essentials and souvenirs. We request that items are not handled unless a purchase is made. If you inadvertently handle an item, please inform our shop staff so the product can be suitably sanitised.
