Due to limited space in the glasshouse you will need to pre-book your Rainforest Pass and arrival time online before your visit. Online tickets will guarantee you entry into the glasshouses and save you time and money when you arrive. At busy times (e.g. school holidays and weekday school visits), we limit the number of visitors to ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone. If you are not able to book your ticket online for any reason please contact us and we can offer advice on how to book.

How to book your ticket step by step:

  1. Buy a Rainforest Pass for each paying guest. (If you are disabled your carer is free)
  2. Your pass will be emailed to you with your pass number which will start with “LR” followed by “6 digits.”
  3. Use your pass number to book your arrival time through the “Book Your Rainforest Visit” portal . This time is just your arrival time. Once inside, you’re welcome to stay and explore until the Rainforest closes at 4pm. (If you are coming with an Infant or Carer they will still need to book an arrival time but they won’t need a Rainforest Pass. When booking their arrival time use the accompanying Pass holder’s number in the “valid member card number” box.)
  4. You will receive an email with your arrival time booking number on which is different to your Rainforest Pass number. Your booking number will be the number you show at the till when you arrive.
  5. Our team will check you in and share tips on how to make the most of your Living Rainforest adventure.

If possible, please Gift Aid your ticket purchase, at no extra cost. Gift Aided ticket sales support the award-winning work of our charity.

Frequently asked questions

Are you a Zoo or a Botanic Garden?

We are a mixture of the two! Our Rainforest glasshouses and animal enclosures are spacious and carefully designed to look as natural as possible, with hundreds of species of plants and animals to enjoy. This means that visitors can experience the sights, sounds and smells of a living tropical rainforest in Berkshire.

Do I still need to book an arrival time for an Infant or Carer?

We are open seven days a week (except Dec 24-26) from 09:30 to 16:00 each day. When booking, you can choose to arrive at one of four arrival times throughout the day. Whatever time you arrive, you are free to stay until 16:00 when the centre closes.

What happens if I arrive before or after my booked arrival time?

Can we feed the animals?

Visitors are NOT ALLOWED to feed or touch the animals. Everyday we have animals feeding sessions at 10am and 2pm. Ask a member of staff what animals are being fed when you arrive and they will be happy to show you where to go.

If you do want a more personal experience with our animal, we do offer a keeper experience where you can feed a selection of our animals. However, this does need to be booked in advance and can not be offered on the day.

Can I reschedule my visit if there are traffic problems, or a member of my party is sick on the day I have booked?

Yes, we understand life can be unpredictable. If you are unable to make your visit we will do our best to get you booked in for an alternative date. Simply contact us, suggesting an alternative date for your visit and if space is available we will reschedule it for you.
