All entry to the Living Rainforest must be pre-booked online
To help keep you as safe as possible, we’re limiting the number of visitors who are able to visit the Living Rainforest at any one time.
This means you will need to book ONLINE (even if you already hold an annual/member ticket).
When booking, you will be reserving a morning or afternoon time slot ahead of your visit (ticket numbers are limited so we strongly advise booking early).
You’ll need to book ALL guests online before you arrive (even members, children and carers).

Toilets and Parking
Our toilet facilities will be open, with limited capacity to enable social distancing. Our team will be carefully managing these areas, and so there may be a short wait to use the facilities. All of our toilet/washroom areas will be cleaned thoroughly and regularly throughout the day for your safety. In case any particular issues arise, we have brought in additional temporary units.
You’ll still be able to park free of charge as normal. We’ll be asking that visitors please respect social distancing measures when leaving and returning to their vehicles. As we are operating a one-way system, you will return to your car from a different direction.
Keeping safe during your visit
Keep your distance
Please try to stay two metres from other guests wherever possible – and that includes your little ones! We have a one-way system with floor markings and signage to assist with your safety!
Clean your hands
You’ll see there are new hand sanitising stations in addition to sinks in the toilets and other areas, so please make use of them.
We still have our free-ranging animals and birds. Please don’t linger too long admiring them – we don’t want to encourage over-crowding. Also, many of our enclosures make it difficult for people to pass, however the one-way system will allow you chances to loop back a second (or third) time.
Please don’t touch
You’ll see us cleaning a lot more but please help us by avoiding touching fences, windows, signs and exhibits. Our playground area is also currently closed.
Wheelchair and buggy users may find it harder than usual going round due to the one-way system. Wherever possible, we would request that buggies be left in our buggy park.
If you require one of our wheelchairs, they can be pre-booked by emailing email@example.com. Please note, these are subject to availability and booking is essential to ensure they are suitably sanitised in advance of your visit. We currently have a limited number available due to the new safety measures in place, therefore we recommend booking early.
We only have a small administrative team, so it may take us a little longer than usual to get back to you. Thanks for bearing with us.

Frequently asked questions
Will we have to wear face masks?
Based on the current government guidance, you won’t be required to wear a face mask when visiting. Similarly, our team will not be required to wear face masks unless their roles require them for hygiene reasons (e.g. first aid staff, or animal keepers following normal biosecurity measures). However, we would encourage anyone who feels that they would like to wear a face mask to do so. Please note, we will have screens at all till points.
Are food and drinks available?
Our cafe will be open and selling a limited range of takeaway light bites, drinks and ice creams that can taken away or delivered by staff to the outdoor table area, where we have provided socially distanced tables. This is subject to there being tables free. All tables will be cleaned and sanitised between uses. (Our indoor seating in the cafe is temporarily unavailable.)
Will the shop be open?
Visit our shop for all your visit essentials and limited souvenirs. We’re closely monitoring government guidance and are operating a one-way system. We request that items are not handled unless a purchase is made. If you inadvertently handle an item, please inform our shop staff so the product can be suitably sanitised.
