Home's Hinge-back Tortoise
Kinixys homeana

Home’s hinge-back tortoises are among the most endangered animals living at the Living Rainforest. When they first arrived here, little was known about the challenges their wild populations faced. In 2019, however, the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) upgraded their threat level from Vulnerable to Critically Endangered. You can find our group of hinge-back tortoises in the Amazonica Glasshouse.
