The Living Rainforest

Edible Forest

Overview

Especially suitable for KS 1 and 2, this tour introduces students to the wide variety of foods that come from rainforest environments. Pupils will learn the requirements of living things for growth and survival. They will learn how plants make their food and about the diets of our animals. Pupils will learn about how herbivores, omnivores and carnivores obtain their food and about the different levels within a food chain. Students will also learn about some of the foods that we eat that originate in the rainforest, including foods they might find on the supermarket shelves in the UK and the diet of indigenous people.
